Evolution

Evolution was an athletic line that I created in my Computers for Fashion class. Computers for Fashion was the first experience I had with the Adobe Suite. As I look back at this project, I can see how far I’ve come with my technical abilities, but my creativity has not wavered. For this project, I had to pick a country to gain inspiration from; I chose Turkey because I had taken a trip years prior, and I promised myself that I would return at some point. This project was a good placeholder for the return trip.

Context: I was initially asked to make patterns using shapes that found in pictures. Below you’ll find my process of finding the shapes from photos, picking a color palette, and finally producing patterns.

Context: After I created the patterns, I had to choose a company that would carry the line of our athletic clothing. I decided on Free People because the company was gaining traction for its own athletic line at the time. I also chose Free People because they are a company that uses color and mixed patterns within their clothing, so I thought it would be a perfect match. Once the company was chosen, I created flats of the clothing. Eventually, we put everything together on a line sheet below.
