Off White x BLM

This was the first final I had during my time at VCU School of Arts; this portfolio comes full circle. I was tasked with creating a collaboration with a clothing brand and a social movement. I had chosen Off White and Black Lives Matter for a mutually beneficial joint venture.

Context: My process for choosing this collaboration was easy due to the times. Virgil Abloh had given a $50 donation to benefit a bail fund, and BLM was in full effect after George Floyd’s death. I saw a clear connection between the two to work together. I researched both parties and how they operated. I then rationalized why the two groups coming together would be the perfect match.

Later Findings: After I had written this paper with the idea of a potential collaboration, Off-White actually teamed up with Stussy and the "I Support Young Black Businesses" initiative. Although it was not the exact collaboration I thought of, it had the same tone.
